CIARÁN HINDS (Tardos Mors) comenzó su carrera en la sala The Glasgow Citizens Theatre y fue miembro de la compañía durante muchos años. En Irlanda ha trabajado en Lyric Theatre Belfast, Druid Theatre Galway y en Project y Abbey en Dublín, donde encarnó a Cuchulain en “The Yeats Cycle”. Para Gate Theatre, ha aparecido recientemente en la puesta “The Birds” de Conor McPherson, en la versión de “Antígona” de Field Day Company y en “The School for Wives” y “The Yalta Game”, de Brian Friel.
A nivel internacional, integró la gira de la compañía de Peter Brook en “The Mahabharata” e interpretó roles protagónicos para Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Court, Donmar Warehouse y National Theatre, donde apareció por última vez en “Burnt by the Sun” y fue parte del elenco de “Closer” (en el papel de Larry), de Patrick Marber, que también se vio en Broadway. En Nueva York, fue parte de “The Seafarer”, de Conor McPherson.
En TV, Hinds encarnó a DCI Langton en “Above Suspicion” de Linda La Plante, y a Julio César en la coproducción de BBC/HBO “Rome”. A ello se le agregan numerosos créditos de televisión, entre los cuales pueden citarse importantes papeles en “The Mayor of Casterbridge”, “Jane Eyre”, “Jason and the Argonauts”, “Seaforth”, “Ivanhoe”, “Rules of Engagement”, “Sherlock Holmes”, “Soldier, Soldier”, “Prime Suspect 3” y la laureada “Persuasion”, de Jane Austen, en la cual interpretó al Capitán Wentworth.
Entre sus logros en cine destacan: The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, de Peter Greenway; December Bride, Circle of Friends, Titanic Town, Some Mother’s Son, Oscar® and Lucinda, The Lost Son, The Weight of Water, Mary Reilly, The Road to Perdition de Sam Mendes¸ The Sum of All Fears, Mickybo and Me, Calendar Girls, Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life, The Statement, Veronica Guerin y The Phantom of the Opera, de Joel Schumacher, Miami Vice de Michael Mann y Munich de Steven Spielberg. También Amazing Grace de Michael Apted; Nativity, dirigida por Catherine Hardwicke; Hallam Foe, A Tiger’s Tai; Margot at the Wedding, dirigida por Noah Baumbach; There Will Be Blood de Paul Thomas Anderson; Stop Loss de Kimberly Pearce; In Bruges de Martin McDonald; The Tale of Desperaux, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Cash, LA MONTAÑA EMBRUJADA, The Eclipse –por la cual ganó el premio al Mejor Actor en el Festival de Cine de Tribeca-, Life During Wartime, The Debt y Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows.
